Meet Melanie
Melanie Stafford is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at Walden University completing her practicum at Three Tree Counseling. She practices an integrative counseling approach that draws from CBT, DBT, person-centered, narrative, and trauma-informed modalities. Melanie is passionate about supporting clients through trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, identity development, and exploring the intersection of mental health and the criminal justice system. At Three Tree Counseling, Melanie is committed to creating empathetic, culturally sensitive spaces where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered in their healing journey.
Children
Noticing big feelings, behavior changes, or difficulty expressing emotions in your child? Since play is a child’s natural language, Melanie uses play-based therapy with trauma-focused CBT and DBT, all adapted to their age and development. She provides a warm space where children can explore emotions and build skills, while supporting parents with tools to nurture ongoing emotional well-being.
Teen
Is your teen moody, withdrawn, or struggling with stress, friendships, or school? Melanie creates a safe, nonjudgmental environment where teens can express themselves, learn coping skills, and feel understood. She supports teens and their families in building stronger communication and resilience during this important season of growth.
Women
Feeling anxious? Navigating transitions, identity changes, or relationship challenges? Melanie provides trauma-informed, integrative counseling tailored to the unique experiences women face. She offers a compassionate space to explore your story, build confidence, and move toward a healthier, more empowered life.
